Ksplice Uptrack

We are proud to announce that all of our nodes now run Ksplice’s fantastic Uptrack software. This enables us to keep all of our servers completely up to date with security patches without requiring reboots!

Emergency Network Maintenance – Canadian Location

One of our major upstream providers will be undergoing an emergency maintenance window tonight starting at 12:01AM and ending at 6:00AM.

During this time, our other upstream providers will be picking up the excess bandwidth loads caused by this, however there may be some increased latency and packet loss while connections converge.

If you have any questions or if there is anything else we can help you with, please get in touch!

Time Syncing – Network Time Protocol

We have now installed NTP across all of our nodes. This will ensure that date and time will be properly updated across all of our nodes.
If you are experiencing any issues with time lag please let us know and we will look into it

VPS Control Panel is now HTTPS only

Due to concerns from a few users as well as our own security concerns we have made our VPS Control Panel at vps.kerplunchosting.com HTTPS only. If you go to the unsecure version of the site you will automatically be redirected.

US Emergency Core Network Maintance Window – January 24th

There has been a maintenance window scheduled to perform work on several core network switches which provide carrier bandwidth to our facilities. Since this maintenance may result in a minor service interruption we are informing our entire client base as a precautionary measure.
The maintenance window is scheduled Sunday, January 24th, 2010 from 12:00AM to 6:00AM CST Clients may notice suboptimal internet routing or a loss of network connectivity for short periods of time during the maintenance while client switch uplinks fail over to their redundant core switch. We do not anticipate loss of power to any servers during the maintenance.

Planned Maintance – Canadian Location

We are having planned network maintenance occurring on Tuesday January 19th at 4AM – 5AM Eastern Standard Time. We are also having planned datacenter maintenance on Wednesday January 13th at 4:30am – 6:00am Eastern Standard Time. Neither of these are expected to have any down time, but the network maintenance may cause you to experience latency and minor packet loss.

This applies to all of our SuperBytes and TinyVPS customers in our Canadian location
